Care for when you are injured
ACC works to prevent injuries and accidents, for all New Zealanders. And if you're injured, they can help you get the treatment and rehabilitation you need to get you back to work. Sustaining an injury can be a stressful time, but knowing that there is a service there to help you get back on your feet makes the transition to recovery easier.
But proposed cuts of 6.5% could see this service at risk. We have seen in the past what the impacts of cuts to ACC has done. It means declining claims, limiting clients' access to entitlements and for some returning to work before they are ready.
With people now reported to be taking longer to recover, this is putting pressure on an already under-resourced agency. Cuts to ACC make no sense, so why is the Government doing them?
